Turkish Social Values Study (TSVS)

Funded by the TÜBİTAK 1001 program, the project will be lead by Dr. Ceylan Engin in collaboration with Dr. Sinan Erensü and Dr. Souad Osseiran at Boğaziçi University Sociology Department.

Tracing values within the framework of “risk society,” TSVS focuses on areas that have become increasingly contested in  recent years and have pressing implications for Turkish society. These areas include, but not limited to, gender inequality, fertility desires, anti-vaccination sentiment, climate skepticism, attitudes toward artificial intelligence, and anti-immigrant sentiments.

The survey will be collected face to face using the CAPI method in 26 NUTS-2 regions of Turkey with those who are 18+. Our aim is to establish a survey ecosystem in Turkey by collecting comprehensive longitudinal data on value change, which is comparable with other international survey programs.
