Call for Papers - SDL Conference 2026

Call for Papers:

Turkish Values, Attitudes, and Behaviours

Time: Friday, July 17th, 2026

Location: Bogazici University, South Campus, Natuk Birkan Building (NB), Ibrahim Bodur Auditorium

The Sociology Data Lab (SDL) at Boğaziçi University invites scholars to participate as speakers in our upcoming conference, Turkish Values, Attitudes, and Behaviours. This event will provide a platform for data-driven discussions on the evolving social values, attitudes, and behavioural patterns shaping contemporary society in Türkiye. As a research laboratory dedicated to quantitative social research, SDL aims to foster empirical and interdisciplinary dialogue on social change, public opinion, and the broader transformations influencing everyday life in Türkiye.

We particularly encourage submissions that employ quantitative methods to examine themes such as:

Family, Gender, and Sexuality: Shifting gender roles, changing understandings of sexuality, fertility intentions, and transformations in family structures and intimate relationships.

Trust in Institutions and Conspiracy Beliefs: Factors influencing belief in conspiracy theories and their societal implications.

Migration and Social Attitudes: Public perceptions of immigration, integration policies, and attitudes toward diversity.

Health and Science: Public trust in science, changing health behaviors, and the impact of misinformation.

Environmental Concerns and Climate Attitudes: Perceptions of climate change, sustainability practices, and policy responses.

AI and Technology: Public attitudes toward artificial intelligence, including concerns about privacy, automation, inequality, and their effects on everyday life.

Abstract Submission Deadline (250-300 words): May 15th, 2026

Please note that applicants may serve as the presenting author for only one presentation. The abstract and presentation should be in English. Selected participants will attend face-to-face sessions featuring 3-5 presentations, with each speaker allotted approximately 15 minutes, followed by Q&A. This conference offers an opportunity to engage with researchers working on similar topics, exchange ideas, and contribute to an ongoing dialogue on value changes.
